The move from Primary 6 to Secondary 1 Math involves a significant jump in amount of content and difficulty. Though most parents knew the concepts behind the topics such as algebra and geometry, they faced challenges in teaching their children to understand the relatively abstract theories and formulae.

At the other end of the spectrum, there are some parents who experienced math anxiety themselves. They are concerned about passing it on to their children. This anxiety can be triggered by the difficulty of the subject and the pressure of exams, potentially creating a negative cycle of math-related stress.
